Trading glossary

The KenvinZone trading glossary: short definitions, full articles and how AURORA uses each concept.

#

1st BREAK
The first breakout in the direction of a newly confirmed trend cycle. The core AURORA setup.
2nd BREAK
The second breakout in the direction of the same trend cycle, after the 1st BREAK. Tracked separately because the first is sometimes swept.

A

AbsorptionHấp thụ
Unusually high volume with little price progress or a long wick: buying (selling) is being absorbed by the other side, usually a warning sign.
ATRAverage True Range
The average price range over the last N bars. Used to measure volatility and to set stop distances that fit the market.
Avg RAverage R per trade
Average result per trade measured in R. Fairer than total R when comparing groups with different trade counts.

B

Bar-close confirmation
A signal is confirmed only once the bar has closed. It does not change after the close, but it can appear later than intrabar.
BOSBreak of Structure
Price closes beyond the previous structural high (or low) in the direction of the current trend, showing continuation.
Breakeven (BE)Hòa vốn
Moving the stop to the entry price so the remaining position cannot lose (before costs and slippage).
Breakout
Price moves beyond an important level or zone. A breakout is only useful with explicit confirmation and invalidation rules.

C

CHoCHChange of Character
The first structure break against the prior trend, often read as an early sign of a reversal.
CommissionPhí giao dịch
The fee paid to the broker or exchange on each fill: a percentage of value, a fee per contract, or built into the spread.
CVDCumulative Volume Delta
The running total of Delta over many bars, showing whether aggressive buying or selling dominates. On TradingView it is usually estimated from lower timeframes.

D

Delta
The difference between aggressive buying and selling volume. On TradingView it is usually estimated from lower-timeframe bars, not native bid / ask order-flow data.
Drawdown
The decline from an equity peak to the following trough. It shows how deep a losing stretch you must be able to sit through.

E

Entry Filter Profile
The AURORA Pro setting that decides how selective setups are: minimum score and maximum Break stop distance. Kept separate from trade management.
ExpectancyKỳ vọng mỗi lệnh
The average result expected per trade, in R: win rate × average win − loss rate × average loss. Positive means an edge on the tested data.

F

F-SLFixed stop loss
The fixed stop of a trade, set at entry by the setup rules. It is the basis for 1R and position size.
Family Score
AURORA's 0–100 scoring made of six independent families (Trend, Momentum, Structure, Volatility, Flow, Execution), combined by weight.
FVGFair Value Gap
A price gap in a three-candle pattern where the wicks of candles one and three do not overlap, showing a fast one-sided move.

G

Ghost tradeLệnh ma
A setup blocked by a filter but still tracked in the background as if it had been taken, with the same stop, targets and exit rules. Used to measure what the filter is really worth.

H

Higher high / Higher lowHH / HL
Each swing high above the previous one (HH) and each swing low above the previous one (HL): describing an uptrend by price structure. A downtrend is LH / LL.

I

IFVGInverse Fair Value Gap
An FVG that price closes through and that flips role: former resistance becomes support, or the reverse.
In-sample (IS)
The data period used to choose and tune parameters. Results on it usually look better than reality.

K

Kenvin Super TrailingĐường Trailing
AURORA's step-shaped dynamic stop line, built from pivot points and ATR. It only moves with the trend and flips when price closes through it.

L

Limit orderLệnh chờ
An order that fills only at your price or better. In exchange, it may never fill if price does not come back.
LiquidityThanh khoản
On a chart, usually areas where resting orders cluster, such as stops below obvious lows or above obvious highs. Price often sweeps them before moving on.
Losing streakChuỗi thua
Several losing trades in a row. For a system that loses about half its trades, streaks of 8–10 losses can happen within a few hundred trades.

M

MSSMarket Structure Shift
Price closes beyond the latest high (or low) of the pullback, confirming momentum has returned in the expected direction.
MTFMulti-timeframe
Looking at several timeframes together. Higher-timeframe data is only reliable when taken from closed higher-timeframe bars.

O

OIOpen Interest
The total number of open derivative contracts. Rising price with rising OI often signals new money entering.
OOSOut-of-sample
Data not used when choosing parameters. OOS results show whether a configuration works beyond the data it was tuned on.
Order Block
In the common definition, the last opposite-direction candle before a strong displacement, used as a zone price may revisit.
OverfittingQuá khớp
When settings are tuned so closely to past data that they capture random noise, looking great historically but performing poorly on new data.

P

POCPoint of Control
The price level with the most traded volume over a period, from a volume profile.
Position sizingTính khối lượng
Sizing a trade from the amount you accept to lose and the distance to the stop, instead of trading a fixed size.
Profit Factor
Gross profit divided by gross loss. Above 1 means profitable on the tested data, but read it with sample size, drawdown and costs.

R

R-Multiple
A trade result expressed as a multiple of the initial risk. A full stop-out is −1R; a gain of twice the risk is +2R.
Reference volumeVolume tham chiếu
Volume taken from a related market with real volume, for example gold futures used for a gold CFD. Useful, but not the CFD's own volume.
RepaintVẽ lại
When an indicator's signal or value on past bars changes after it appeared, making historical charts look better than reality.
Runner
A small part of the position kept after the final take-profit, with a stop trailing the trend, to capture long runs.
RVOLRelative Volume
Current volume compared with its normal level. Measuring against the same time of day removes session effects.

S

Setup QualityBreakQ · SunnyQ
A setup-specific quality score for BREAK or SUNNY, measuring compression then expansion, candle decisiveness, path efficiency and location in the trend. Statistics only by default.
SlippageTrượt giá
The difference between the price you intended and the price you actually got, usually unfavourable in fast or thin markets.
SMC Quality
A 0–100 quality score for SMC setups: displacement, zone or sweep quality, room to the opposing liquidity in R, and path efficiency.
SMC RETEST
An AURORA Pro SMC setup: after a Break, price returns into the displacement's FVG (or Order Block) and closes back beyond the zone midpoint in the trend direction.
Stop loss
The price at which the trade idea is considered wrong and the position is closed to cap the loss.
Structural stopStoploss cấu trúc
A stop placed at the invalidation level of the price structure itself (beyond the zone or the sweep extreme), rather than at a general trailing line.
SUNNY
AURORA's with-trend continuation setup: entering when the market turns back in the main direction after a pullback.
SweepLiquidity sweep
Price pierces an obvious high or low and then closes back inside, often after triggering resting orders around that level.

T

T-SLTrailing stop level
The dynamic stop following the current Trailing line, changing every bar. A reference for manual trade management.
Take profit (TP)
A predefined profit-taking price. Often set as a multiple of risk, for example TP1 = 1R, TP2 = 2R.
Tick volume
The number of price changes within a candle, supplied by brokers for forex and many CFDs. Not real traded volume; use it only in relative terms.
Tier 3 · Institutional Quality
AURORA Pro's context layer: fresh FVGs, liquidity sweeps, CVD and absorption, plus suitability for holding a Runner. Statistics only by default.
True Range
A candle's true range: the largest of high − low, |high − previous close| and |low − previous close|. It includes gaps.

V

VAH / VALValue Area High / Low
The upper and lower edges of the price area holding most of the traded volume (often 70%) in a volume profile.
Volume Quality (VQ)
A 0–100 score of whether a candle's volume supports the trade direction: RVOL strength, Delta direction, effort versus result, and volume expansion.

W

Walk-forward
Validating by repeatedly choosing settings on one period and testing them on the next, rolling forward through time.
Webhook
A way for TradingView to send an alert's message to a server or service URL, so a bot can process it.
Win rateTỷ lệ thắng
The percentage of trades that make money. Only meaningful alongside the average win and average loss.
